Andrea of Clear Mount:
I fought because it was (to this day) the funnest thing I ever did in my life. I also enjoyed the craft (I was taught by two knights, William the Lucky and Steven Maceanruig, who specialized in the craft — check out William the Lucky’s Headless House Fighter’s Handbook. And I enjoyed the challenge of fighting people bigger and stronger than I — and killing them.
Bolverk of Momchilovich:
Anyone can play this game who is wearing minimal armour and is 16. So, we don’t have to pound or intimidate each other. It should be a dance and your partner is your sword. Looking good out there is way better than winning.
Britta MacGregor:
Footwork; Efficient movement (using angles); never give up, if you get knocked down, bounce right back up.
Fern de la Foret:
Those people who want to fight “better than the other guy” should be training better than the other guy.
Gwenllhian Rhiannon of Dragonkeep:
No one is hopeless! There is NO defense. Power is main reason fighters fail. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A RHINO HIDE!!!!!!! To assume a fighter is not taking your blows is to call them a liar. In this sport which in entirely based on the honor system I can think of nothing more UNCHIVALROUS than accusing your opponent of not taking blows.
Hilary of Serendip:
Fight your own fight rather than the other guy’s.
Ismenia O’Moulryan:
Your feet is where the shot starts and ends with your hand (direction). The more you practice, the more you learn, the better fighter you will become.
Kolfinna kottr:
You have to enjoy this game, love it, revel in its fun. If fighting isn’t fun, take a break, until it is fun for you again.
Leah de Spencer:
Be a fighter, learn from anyone who can beat you, and those who just give you a good run for the money, do so with honor and chivalry and a joyous heart.
Rauokinn eyverska Starradottir:
Understand what you do. Throw blows that kill. Good technique lends itself to power, timing, speed and flow. Always fight honorably. Positive word fame is more important than winning.
Richenza von Augsburg:
I tend more towards Oriental philosophy. Remember to thank the other person for fighting you, and leave it at that. Don’t knock yourself. If you can’t have respect for your fighting, why should your opponent?
Rowan de la Garnison:
Have fun, challenge yourself. Be patient and wait for them.
